How Would You Feel?

Most often, we take one side or another when we hear about attacks and bombings. How many times do we stop and think about how the average citizen feels? How would YOU feel if you lived in Gaza City? How would you feel if you lived in Sderot, Israel? Would you be brave enough to take a stand?

Many do not and cannot stand up for what they believe. Why? Because they are mere citizens, just like us. They are innocent on both sides. The fanatics are the enemy - not the citizens.

But when we ignore the fanatics, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Fanatics kill their own people and don't hesitate to force their beliefs on others to the point of vowing to exterminate those who disagree with them.

How many times do we watch history repeat itself before we can recognize the irrationality of fanaticism?

So, how would you feel if you were an Israeli citizen, trying to stay safe and live a peaceful life?

And, how would you feel if you were a resident in Gaza and thugs run the "government" - even though you voted them in because they promised to make things better?

It is truly a horrible situation to watch from afar, but how would we feel to live it every day?

I pray for peace for all the people in Israel and Gaza. But I fear it will come at a dear cost.

Jobless rate climbs....what to do?

What an awful time to be "out of work". Yet many are suffering this down turn in their lives right now.

The AP reported, "new claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, the government said Wednesday, while consumers cut back on their spending for the fifth straight month amid a deepening recession.

The Labor Department reported that initial requests for jobless benefits rose to a seasonally adjusted 586,000 in the week ending Dec. 20, from an upwardly revised figure of 556,000 the previous week. That's much more than the 560,000 economists had expected.

That's also the highest level of claims since November 1982, though the work force has grown by about half since then."

This might be a good time to look into working online and making some extra money! If you are out of work, there couldn't be a better time to at least investigate working from home.
